1. Reason for Revision
The revision aims to improve and supplement certain shortcomings in the current system related to the design approval application system for transport containers of radioactive materials under Article 76 of the Nuclear Safety Act. Specifically, it seeks to raise the design approval validity period to 5 years and establish the procedures for extending the validity period in the Enforcement Decree. Additionally, the revision incorporates procedures for approval of changes as defined in the law into the subordinate regulations (the Enforcement Decree).

1)Regulation of the Design Approval Validity Period and Extension Procedure (Amendment of Article 112 and Addition of Article 112-2)
The validity period of 5 years for design approval of transport containers and the procedures for extending this validity period, as stipulated in the packaging and transport regulations for radioactive materials (notification), are raised and explicitly regulated in the Enforcement Decree.
2)Regulation of the Change Approval Procedure for Transport Container Design (Amendment of Article 112 and Addition of Article 112-2)
The procedures for change approval, as defined under Article 76, Paragraph 1 of the
Nuclear Safety Act, are incorporated into the Enforcement Decree.
