Strengthening the Maximum Allowable Content of Broken Rice for 'Superior' and 'Average' Grades

• Rice grading is regulated by the 'Rice Grading and Protein Content Standards' [Appendix 2].

• To promote the distribution and consumption of high-quality rice with low broken rice content, and to reduce the distribution of lower-priced rice with higher broken rice content, which will help stabilize rice prices, the maximum allowable broken rice content for the 'Superior' and 'Average' grades is being tightened.
