Reasons for Proposal
With the increased frequency of natural disaster, such as earthquakes, typhoons, heavy rain and snow, the public has become more interested in the safety of housing structure. Regarding this, critics say that it is necessary to provide information on structural load-bearing strength, such as the structural safety of housing that is about to be supplied and to give the general public more access to such information as performance rating of multi-family housing.
Accordingly, this Amendment aims to ensure the right of prospective residents to know the safety and quality of housing by providing information on fixed load, live load, snow load, wind pressure and structural safety against earthquakes where a project operater concludes a housing supply contract or issues public notice of resident recruitment (Article 54 (4) 3 newly inserted).
Major Provisions
Impose the obligation on project operators to disclose the information on bearing strength of structures to prospective residents as prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Article 54 (4))
