The Framework Act on the Management of Charges, which is the basis for collection of charges, prescribes that, where a person obliged to pay charges fails to comply with the deadline for payment, additional charges shall be imposed.

Under the current Act, where additional charges imposed on recycling charges of electrical and electronic equipment and on charges for collecting electrical and electronic equipment are paid within one (1) week after the deadline for payment, additional charges amounting to 1/100 of the said charges are imposed, such that it has been pointed out that the amount concerned should be of the same level as the amount of additional charges under the Framework Act on the Management of Charges.

Therefore, this Amendment aims to prescribe that where additional charges are imposed as a result of failure to pay recycling charges of electrical and electronic equipment and/or charges for collecting electrical and electronic equipment, and payment of the said additional charges is made within one (1) week after the deadline for payment, the amount of additional charges should be 12/1000 of the charges as in the Framework Act on the Management of Charges (Article 18-3 (1)).

Prescribe that, where additional charges are imposed as a result of failure to pay recycling charges of electrical and electronic equipment and/or charges for collecting electrical and electronic equipment and payment of the said additional charges is made within one (1) week after the deadline for payment, the amount of additional charges should be 12/1000 of the charges as in the Framework Act on the Management of Charges (Article 18-3 (1))
