Reasons for Proposal
The current Act prescribes that among hospital-level medical institutions, a hospital providing medical services requiring a high level of expertise in a specific medical department or in treating a specific disease may be designated as a specialized hospital.
However, recently, some hospitals designated as a specialized hospital of a particular field have been advertising themselves as if it designated as a specialized hospital of other medical departments or diseases than that originally certified, with no proper sanctions being imposed on such hospital in question, which requires more effective measures against it.
Accordingly, the Amendment aims to add the case of the specialized hospital advertising itself as if it has been designated as a specialized hospital of other hospital departments or diseases than that certified to grounds for revocation of its designation as a specialized hospital(Article 3, subparagraph 5, paragraph 5, subparagraph 4 newly inserted).
Major Provisions
Add the case of the specialized hospital advertising itself as if it has been designated as a special hospital capable of operating other hospital departments or of treating other diseases to the grounds for revocation of its designation as a special hospital (Article 3, subparagraph 5, paragraph 5, subparagraph 4 newly inserted)
