(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) announced December 16 that it will sign a business agreement with Creative Economy Innovation Centers of Gangwon, Gyeongbuk, Jeonnam, Jeju and Chungnam on December 17 to jointly develop regional tourism products and revitalize the regional economy.
KTO and five creative economy innovation centers have been carrying out working-level meetings since early November, 2015 and selected regionally-specialized projects.
KTO will develop hiking, cycling and canoeing-related products by maximizing the mountain resources and support attracting tourists with Gangwon Province; commercialize Jongga food culture and old houses with North Gyeongsang Province; develop well-being tourism industry and support PR and marketing with South Jeolla Province; support expert consulting and commercializing village experience programs with South Chungcheong Province; and promote smart tourism pilot projects with Jeju Island.
The five creative economy innovation centers will hold joint session to brief about the creative tourism projects.
