(JEJU=Newsis News) Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced that it will hold a workshop for heads of Jeju Tourism Promotion Agencies in 11 foreign countries to discuss changing trends in tourism between January 23 to 25.
The workshop will be attended by around 30 participants, including heads of Jeju Tourism Promotion Agencies in China, Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, and Vietnam as well as officials from the Jeju Tourism Organization, the Jeju Special Self-governing Provincial Tourism Association, and the Jeju Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The event will focus on the external threats such as China's recent ban on Korean culture due to the Korea's decision to deploy missile defense system and marketing strategy to shift tourism trend from low budget group tour to high value added individual and special tours.
Publicity activities to restore the island's popularity among Japanese tourists will be discussed in detail as well.
Participants will also share ideas on new strategic base for marketing campaigns, medical tourism, and target marketing activities centering on Muslim tourists to tap into the Southeast Asian and emerging markets.
