(SEOUL=Yonhap News) On June 17, the Korea Federation of SMEs announced it will host the 2018 Jeju SME Leaders Forum from June 21 to 23 at the Jeju Lotte Hotel. More than 600 Korean SME representatives from various regions and sectors are expected to attend.
The theme of the forum is "Designing the future through innovation and cooperation." On June 21, Korea Federation of SMEs Minister Hong Jong-hak will give a keynote speech about open innovation.
On June 22, academia, industry and research experts will take part in the policy debate to discuss cooperation between South and North Korea through cooperatives. They will also discuss the role of inter-Korean economic cooperation and cooperatives following the North's talks with the U.S on June 12.
The SMEs forum is in its 12 year, after it was first held in 2007. It is held annually to present management strategies and policy agendas to SMEs, which are the foundation of Korea's economy, and to establish a place for communication, harmony and positive change for SMEs.
