Jeju Cruise Forum to be Held Under the Theme of "Asia Cruise, Open to the World"

Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on August 23 that 2018 Asia Cruise Forum Jeju will be held from August 28 to 31 at Shinhwa World Landing Convention Center.

The Forum is hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and Jeju Province and organized by Jeju Tourism Organization under the theme of "Asia Cruise, Open to the World," and it is the only cruise conference in Korea. It will be attended by 2,000 people including professionals, and those from cruise lines and central and local governments.

The Opening Session will be held under the topic of Global Cruise line Speech, and suggestions for achieving sustainable development of the Asia cruise tourism will be given by Mario Zanettie, President of Costa Group Asia, Stuart Allison, Senior Vice President Asia Pacific for Princess Cruises, Alex Xiang, Managing Director of the Asia Pacific operation of Norwegian Cruise Line.

At this year's forum, representatives of Japan's NYK Cruise and Mitsui O.S.K Lines will attend to share the status and prospects of the Japanese cruise market.

In three sessions, participants will discuss on development of Asia Cruise industry under the themes of "Ways to vitalize Asian Cruise Home Ports," "Current trends and future prospects for cruise tourism," and "Ways to upgrade and utilize cruise infrastructure."

The number of exhibition booths for the tourism businesses in the Province, ship stores and regional specialties will be increased from 57 to 64 this year, and the number of business meetings between cruise lines and overseas travel agents will also be increased from 62 to over 150.
