Jeju province said on March 28 that it will provide KRW 9.1 billion to support technology development of SMEs and regional enterprises in Jeju island, jointly with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Jeju Institute for Regional Program Evaluation.

The provincial government plans to support national budget of KRW 4.61 billion and local budget of 1.84 billion to 3 new technology development programs and national budget of 15.56 billion and local budget of KRW 1.07 billion to 2 enterprise support programs.

By area, it will put KRW 2.18 billion into R&D support program for regional enterprises, KRW 1.28 billion into commercialization R&D for regional enterprises in connection with national convergence complex, and KRW 3.02 billion into regional enterprise open innovation voucher (R&D).

Also, it will set aside KRW 1.842 billion to fostering region-specific industries, and KRW 786 million to region-based industries.

The scale of support will be up to KRW 200-400 million per year for an R&D program, and KRW 500-1000 million per year for a non R&D program.
