According to Yonhap News,
(SEOUL=Yonhap News) Defense procurement officials from South Korea and the United States held a meeting on ways to forge bilateral cooperation in defense technologies, the state arms procurement agency here said Wednesday.
The three-day annual meeting of the Technological Cooperation Sub-Committee (TCSC) kicked off on Tuesday on the southern resort island of Jeju, involving some 250 officials from the two sides, according to the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
The TCSC is under the Defense Technology and Industrial Cooperation Committee (DTICC), which is one of the subcommittees of the Security Consultative Meeting (SCM), an annual defense ministerial dialogue between Seoul and Washington.
Key agenda items include how to harness technologies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution for defense research and development and ways to better exchange related information between the two nations, according to DAPA.
"The meeting is also aimed at checking progress in joint development projects and pushing for fresh, more diverse research together," a DAPA official said.
