According to Yonhap News,

Jeju Island is set to revise a draft for the Universal Design, a guideline for urban development to turn the city life better, beautiful, more convenient and inclusive to everyone. As part of the project, the Island comes up with a guideline and action plan focusing primarily on renewable power plants, night & coastal views and cultural heritage in Jeju. For the moment, five districts centered around Hallasan National Park, alongside rivers and roads, are divided into each administrative zone.

Under the requirements for the Universal Design, the authorities also start to modify the original plans to be wider open to all citizens regardless of age, gender or physical, mental discomfort. Making an in-depth analysis of major accomplishments and challenges of the plan, which initiated since 2016, the Island will reset the goals and process to push on. In addition, they’ll run a research project to find unique, Jeju-only design, to study current trends and outlook to put the result in the statutory form.
