The Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) announced on March 17 that it would hold 'groundwater symposium celebrating World Water Day 2022' under the theme of “Groundwater: Adapting to a New Normal” in Jeju on March 21.

This event will be on live-stream through YouTube, discussing how to systematically preserve and manage, and efficiently develop groundwater, examining the importance of groundwater through discussion on the role of groundwater in response to climate crisis, intelligent groundwater management, and sustainable groundwater.

President Lee Pyeong-koo said, "Groundwater is a key research resource for not only responding to the climate crisis we are faced with but also securing stable water resources."
