According to Yonhap News,

Jeju-do announced on April 1 that it had signed an MOU with 'Neospectra' to realize Jeju Smart City using metaverse.

According to this MOU, Jeju-do and Neospectra are set to cooperate in filming and building manned aircraft, drones, and the ground for the realization of a smart city and metaverse based on reality.

In addition, they agreed to cooperate in discovering services related to private and public usage of metaverse and incorporating them in policies.

The province plans to provide administrative support to discover realistic service models from a three-dimensional perspective through application of the metaverse platform based on rich spatial information.

At the same time, Neospectra plans to share the metaverse platform and infrastructure, provide customized technical support and training to ensure effective usage, and automate the process of building the 3D real world using artificial intelligence, so as to help laying the foundation for Jeju-do to lead the metaverse field.

Neospectra has completed 3D filming of 7 major tourist destinations in Jeju Island, including Jungmun Tourist Complex and Songaksan Mountain. It plans to launch a pilot service of an AI platform that automatically processes the obtained 3D data within this year.
