Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Jeju Tourism Organization said on June 20 that they would conduct 'Jeju's representative wellness tourism model establishment' service to foster Jeju as a leading tourism destination for Wellness and create the healthy tourism ecosystem.

This service is to research nature, forest, history, and culture resources of Jeju and analyze their effects from the perspective of wellness.

Jeju-do plans to set major targets to porovide wellness value and healing service, and develop long-stay type wellness tourism products in connection with wellness tourist destinations and nearby village resources.

It will build a mid-and long-term roadmap including establishment of infrastructure, development of manpower, and operational system.

Accordingly, this service will be focused on ▲market analysis ▲major target selection and needs analysis ▲design Jeju's representative wellness program and ▲creation of mid-and long-term roadmap.

The province plans to get advice from external experts in deriving outcomes from the service, plan and develop wellness products in consideration of specific healing effects and efficacy.

The province expects the service to be finished by November, with focus on specialization, differentiation, and continuity.

A provincial official said, "we will focus on fostering Jeju-style wellness tourism reflecting Jeju's nature, climate, and culture, so that it can be established as sustainable Jeju's tourism growth model."
