According to Yonhap News,

Research on supplying wasted renewable electricity, generated due to excess production in Jeju, as electricity for green house of the agriculture field will be promoted.

Jeju provincial government announced on June 29 that it would promote R&D and pilot operation of supplying new and renewable energy to the agricultural sector through agreements with greenhouse farmers and renewable energy generation companies.

The province plans to develop optimal control technology to supply new and renewable energy to the heat pump production, storage, and supply system operation of green houses for three farms in cooperation with the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology.

In addition, the province also plans to develop a platform that can measure, manage, and operate the amount of electricity required to operate greenhouses.

In Jeju, electricity is generated excessively through renewable energy generation such as wind power generators. As the excess electricity is not processed, output control is in place that forces power generators to stop.
