While the space industry is garnering global attention as one of sustainable industries, experts highly evaluated Jeju's geographical advantages and the relevant infrastructure in relation to the industry. The discussants pronounced the evaluation in one voice during the session of 'Future Jeju of Co-existence and Cooperation - Jeju's Policy Direction for Space Industry in the Age of New Space.' The session was held on the second day of the 17th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity at the Jeju International Convention Center.

Professor Lee Tae-sik at Hanyang University said, "Jeju regards the space industry as a new growth engine, signs agreements with different institutions and actively promotes the industry."

He also added, "considering Jeju's location and pre-existing infrastructures, it makes a perfect place to have a space analogue simulation training center, which is essential for a long-haul space development. And Jeju is the only region with a volcanic landform in Korea, and this makes the condition of the island similar to that of Mars."

Professor Han Jae-hong at KAIST said, "Jeju appears to be prepared for actively promoting the project on processing and using the satellite information. But it is challenging for private enterprises to promote the project while focusing on the center."

Shin Dong Yoon, CEO of Perigee Aerospace stated, "There is a wave of new space. It is an opportunity for Jeju with competitive edges in terms of geography and administration. If we give students a chance to launch liquid rockets, then Jeju will take lead in training talented people for the future."

Yoon Jong-ho at the KAI suggested by saying, "Jeju is expected to be a hub for space industry service by linking the center with the satellite management ecosystem. Also, I hope that many Korean startups envision business models that would be affiliated with the infrastructure in Jeju, and prosper together."
