Jeju-si is to run the 'Visiting 2040, Hwa-tong Meeting' as an effort to strengthen communications with young generations - people who are in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.

Regarding the name 'Hwa-tong Meeting,' Hwa-tong in Korean refers to harmony and communication in an energetic atmosphere.

The meeting aims to gather ideas from the youth and reflect them on policies.

Periodically once a month, there will be held a meeting of micro-business owners, job-seekers, multicultural families, etc.

The meeting organizers will directly visit organizations or groups of young generations and listen to any suggestions from local youths so that they can discuss ways to support bolstering the future capabilities of the youth.

"We will listen to real public opinion through communicating with youths in various fields and from different backgrounds, then we will review their original ideas to revise our policies," Mayor Kang said.
