Jeju Tourism Organization (President Ko Eun-Sook) and Jeju Startup Association are to host the 'Tourism Startup Conference & Innovative Idea Challenge' from Nov. 17 to 18.
The event consists of two sessions: one is the 'Fostering Tourism Startups Conference,' and the other is the 'Tourism Startup Innovative Idea Challenge,' which aims to find innovative items that would help Jeju to become a global city of tourism.
The conference will involve lectures and discussions pertaining to trends and exemplary cases of startup companies.
Participants at the conference will share various ideas under the theme of 'Jeju tourism's global take-off and growth of startups' and seek ways to galvanize an ecosystem of tourism startups.
On the last day of the event, which falls on Nov. 18, domestic venture investors are to engage in a post-tour for the startups' investment promotion. They plan to visit seven startup business sites (ColorLab Jeju, Sulsimdang, Jeju Horse Lab, YourFarm, the Blue Factory, and Haenyeo Kitchen).
An official from the Jeju Tourism Organization said, "We will do our utmost to make Jeju a major tourism city globally while innovating the startup ecosystem and revitalizing investments."
