In Jeju, it is expected that the discovery of the battery reuse industry after using electric vehicles will go in full swing.

Jeju TechnoPark (Jeju TP) announced on Dec. 20 that it signed an MOU with the Korea Battery Industry Association to advance the electric vehicle battery industry ecosystem in Jeju and that it would expand joint battery research, human resource training, and technical information exchange after using EVs.

According to the Jeju TP, the two organizations plan to promote battery-related projects by sharing battery research facilities, equipment, and professional labor.

Establish a system for sharing data and results from joint research, and promote the advancement of industry ecosystem electric vehicle battery utilization in Jeju through support for companies, equipment support, training, and technology exchange meetings.

An official from the Jeju TP Energy Convergence Center said, "We will work with the Korea Battery Industry Association to promote research and support for the development of the electric vehicle battery industry ecosystem and to prepare a circulation system of resources."

Meanwhile, the Jeju TP signed an MOU with Jeju-si and the Korea Battery Industry Association in 2019 to revitalize the battery industry after using EVs and has been collaborating on safety standards, performance, and safety test plans for the reuse of electric vehicle batteries.
