According to Jeju, the 18th JEJU FORUM for Peace and Prosperity (Jeju Forum 2023) under the theme of 'Working Together for Sustainable Peace and Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific' will be held for 3 days from May 31 to June 2 in International Convention Center Jeju.

In Jeju Forum 2023, high-ranking officials will attend, including East Timor President José Ramos-Horta (Nobel Peace Prize winner 1996) and the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the Philippines Martin Romualdez.

Through the efforts of the National Assembly led by Speaker of the National Assembly Kim Jin-pyo, ASEAN-Korea Forum will be held to seek a new channel that facilitates cooperation between the two region.

ASEAN-Korea Forum will be attended by Korean assemblymen who are members of the Korea-Asean Friendship Association, members of Parliament from 9 countries, and business leaders.

Jeju Forum 2023 comprises about 50 sessions hosted by 20 domestic and foreign organizations, such as the UNDPPA, the National Assembly, and the Korea National Diplomatic Academy.

It will also feature various events, including 'The Era of Indo-Pacific: Cooperation and Vision for Freedom, Peace, and Prosperity' and 'Special Session on Commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of ROK-US Alliance'.

On top of them, sessions on major tasks of the current Jeju government, such as carbon neutrality, green hydrogen, Asean +α, and Private spaceflight, which all are powerful locomotive for future growth on the island.

Jeju plans to hold a briefing session on Jeju Forum 2023 on May 8.
