According to Yonhap News,

ASEAN centers in Korea, China and Japan, an international organization established by Korea, China and Japan for exchanges with ASEAN, will gather in Jeju on October 12 to discuss measures to facilitate cooperation.

The Korea-ASEAN Center, this year's chair, announced on October 11 that it will hold the 19th Korea-China-Japan trilateral ASEAN Center meeting at the Jeju International Peace Center.

The Korea-ASEAN Center, the China-ASEAN Center, and the Japan-ASEAN Center hold meetings every years to share the current status of cooperative projects and best practices.

The discussion in the upcoming meeting will focus on the direction and contents of the projects in the post-COVID19 era, exploring potential joint programs between the centers, and pending issues concerning cooperation with ASEAN.

The secretary-generals of the Korea-ASEAN Center, the China-ASEAN Center, and the Japan-ASEAN Center, will also visit the exhibition at the Jeju ASEAN Hall, which opened in the Jeju International Peace Center in September last year.

The welcoming dinner, scheduled for October 11, will be attended by officials from ASEAN Centers of three countries, the deputy governor of Jeju-do, the director of the Jeju International Training Center of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research(UNITAR), and the president of the Jeju Peace Institute, discussing on promoting cooperation between Korea, China, Japan and ASEAN.

The secretary-general of the Korean ASEAN Center said, "The ASEAN Center in Korea, China, and Japan gathered in Jeju in 2017 to discuss cooperation with ASEAN," adding, "It is even more meaningful that we have a meeting again in Jeju, where ASEAN Hall was opened for the first time outside of Seoul."

He also commented, "we hope that this meeting will serve as an opportunity not only for cooperation with ASEAN but also for peace and stability in the region."
