Jeju-do and Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, will strengthen cooperation in various fields, including the tourism industry and renewable energ sector.

On December 1, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province said that Governor Oh Young-hoon and Bangkok Governor Chacha Sitipan signed an MOU on Jeju-Bangkok working-level exchange at Bangkok City Hall, Thailand.

Accordingly, Jeju-do and Bangkok will establish cooperative relationships in various fields including future new industries such as tourism, renewable energy, and smart city, economy and commerce, and primary industries.

In order to promote working-level exchanges and cooperation, they agreed to assign the staff responsible for working-level exchange projects.

They also specified ways to realize cooperative relationships, such as personnel exchanges and exchanges of information and publications, jointly hosting or mutually participating in exhibitions, festivals, and seminars, and pushing for other exchange projects based on areas of common interest.

Governor Oh said, "This MOU will become a huge turning point for Jeju and Bangkok for mutual development," adding "We will further expand Jeju's own regional foreign policy, called the Asia Plus Alpha policy, to pursue co-prosperity with ASEAN".
