According to Yonhap News,

The first step toward building Jeju International Convention Center (ICC Jeju)'s MICE multi-purpose complex (The 2nd Convention Center) will finally be made in eight years since the initiative for construction was taken.

According to ICC Jeju on December 26, the 2nd Convention Center will be built with a total floor area of 15,110 square meters, two stories above ground and one basement floor, near ICC Jeju. The total project cost is estimated to be KRW 88 billion.

It aims to be completed in August next year, with a capacity of simultaneously hosting 300 exhibition booths, banquets for 2,000 people, and conferences of 6,000 attendees.

ICC Jeju plans to hold a groundbreaking ceremony on December 28.

ICC Jeju CEO said, "The expansion of ICC Jeju facilities is essential to attract large international events such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit," adding, "It will strengthen Jeju's position as a hub city for MICE in the global market."
