According to Yonhap News,

More than 195,000 people are expected to visit Jeju during the Lunar New Year holiday, the nation's largest holiday.

On February 5, the Jeju Tourism Association announced that as many as 195,000 tourists will visit Jeju by air and ship for five days from February 8th to 12th, the Lunar New Year holiday.

It is a 22.9% up from 158,658 visitors druing the same period last year's Lunar New Year holiday (January 20-24, 2023).

More specifically, an average of 39,000 people per day are expected to visit Jeju (39,000 on Feb. 8, 43,000 on the 9th, 39,000 on the 10th, 37,000 on the 11th, and 37,000 on the 12th).

The Jeju Tourism Association explained the reason for the increase in tourists during this year's Lunar New Year holiday , saying, "the number of domestic flights during the Lunar New Year holiday increased by 18.5% and the number of seats increased by 18.2% from 1 year ago. Also, the number of visitors was significantly lower last year due to cancellation of many flights on January 24 caused by bad weather conditions. However, we don't have any unusual weather forecast for this year."
