Jeju governor will visit Sharjah and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on February 21-25.

According to the Jeju government, its governor will participate in the '21th Day of UAE Sharjah Cultural Heritage' at the official invitation of Sharjah Cultural Heritage Authority, and meet with H.H Sheikh Fahim bin sultan bin khalid Al Qasimi, the chairman of the Department of Government Relations

Jeju-do and Sharjah are scheduled to sign a working-level exchange agreement on tourism, future new industries, culture, art, education, economy, and trade.

Jeju's governor will also attend the Jeju-Sharza Business Forum to establish a network for exchange between Jeju and Middle Eastern companies and meet with Adel Abdullah Ali, president of Air Arabia, the UAE's leading airline, to discuss ways to open a Jeju-Sharza air route.

Jeju will also hold an exhibition introducing Jeju's unique cultures such as Jeju haenyeo and Jeju Ipchun-gut and Jeju's major policies such as tourism and future new industries.

On February 23, he will move to Dubai to visit the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) and push for cooperation on exchanges between Jeju-Dubai Space Centers.

He will also meet with Issam Abdullrahim Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism & Commerce, to discuss exchange and cooperation in the tourism sector, including the creation of infrastructure in the province to help attraction of tourists from Islamic countries to Jeju.

Jeju expects this visit will contribute to enhancing Jeju's status in the international community and further development of Korea-UAE bilateral relations.
