According to Yonhap News,

Jeju-do participated in ResorTech Expo held in Okinawa, Japan along with the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (Jeju CCEI) and 6 local startups on November 14.

The event, which was launched with the goal of achieving the development of the tourism industry through advanced technology, has grown into the largest digital transformation and tourism industry expo in Okinawa Prefecture.

ResorTech is a combination of recreation and technology.

Jeju-do plans to identify the overseas trends of digital transformation and the tourism industry, and accelerate digital transformation across the region, including administration and tourism.

It also plans to revitalize the economies of both regions by revitalizing exchanges between companies along with the Jeju CCEI, and support the entry of Jeju startups into the Japanese market.

For instance, a Jeju company running cloud-based rental car mobility platforms successfully entered Okinawa, and an Okinawa-based company supporting the disabled through IT is preparing to enter Jeju, a testament to an increasing exchange between companies.

Jeju officials visited the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) and held a meeting to discuss exchanges and cooperation measures including "Learncation", a combination of vacation and learning.
