The main theme of the 20th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity (hereinafter referred to as Jeju Forum), which will be held in May next year, has been finally confirmed as "Harnessing Innovation for Peace and Shared Prosperity."

According to Jeju Provincial Government on November 26, the main theme of Jeju Forum reflects the demands of the times that innovative cooperation and approaches are required to solve the challenges facing the international community, seek a sustainable future, and spread the value of peace.

"Peace and Shared Prosperity" of the main theme is the essential value of the Jeju Forum, while "innovation" means a key driving force to break through the uncertainties faced by the international community and respond to various changes.

The main theme was finally selected by Jeju Provincial Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, based on 17 proposals proposed by the agenda selection committee and the international advisory committee, which are advisory committees for the Jeju Forum.

An official from Jeju-do said that "in celebrating the 20th anniversary of Jeju Forum next year, our focus was on spreading peace, which was the purpose of founding the Forum."

The Jeju Forum began in 2001 as a venue for multilateral cooperation and discussion to seek peace and shared prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and East Asia.

The 20th Jeju Forum are scheduled to be held at the Jeju International Convention Center from May 28 to 30 next year.
