On January 1, Jeju-do announced that a total of 170 sports events, including 18 international competitions, 56 national competitions, and 96 local competitions, are planned for 2025, with an expected economic impact of KRW 103.8 billion on the regional economy.

Using data from the Korea Institute for Local Administration on "Analysis of the Economic Impact of Sports Events in Jeju," Jeju-do forecasts that the total economic impact of sports events held this year will reach KRW 103.8 billion.

An official from the Jeju-do government said, "By hosting sports events year-round, we will develop Jeju into the best sports city," adding "In 2025, we aim to achieve an economic effect of KRW 130 billion by hosting and supporting sports events."
