According to Yonhap News,

A total of 170 sports events will be held in Jeju this year.

On January 1, Jeju-do announced that a total of 170 sports events, including 18 international competitions, 56 national competitions, and 96 local competitions, are planned for 2025, with an expected economic impact of KRW 103.8 billion on the regional economy.

Among these, 79 competitions will take place in the first half of the year, including the 20th Jeju Peace National Taekwondo Championship (January), the 20th National Excellent High School Winter League Baseball Championship (February), the 19th Seogwipo Chilsimni National Archery Championship for Men and Women (March), the 20th Hallabae National Swimming Championship (April), the 80th Jeju National Student Tennis Championship (May), and the 22nd Jeju Superman National Triathlon Championship (June).

International competitions will include 18 events in 11 sports such as football, baseball, athletics, and bodybuilding, with the 'Ground N Global Youth Football Stove League in Jeju' among the events taking place throughout the year.

National competitions will include 56 events in 24 sports, such as marathon, football, golf, baseball, and tennis, including the 'National Road Race.'

Using data from the Korea Institute for Local Administration on "Analysis of the Economic Impact of Sports Events in Jeju," Jeju-do forecasts that the total economic impact of sports events held this year will reach KRW 103.8 billion.

An official from the Jeju-do government said, "By hosting sports events year-round, we will develop Jeju into the best sports city," adding "In 2025, we aim to achieve an economic effect of KRW 130 billion by hosting and supporting sports events."
