Jeju-do hosts an international workshop on cultural policy with participation of 9 Asian countries
An international workshop to strengthen cultural policy capabilities, with the participation of cultural policy practitioners from nine Asian countries, was opened in Jeju.
On July 29, Jeju-do hosted the international workshop at the Jeju International Training Center (JITC), with the theme "Harnessing Heritage Assets for Inclusive Growth and Community Empowerment in the Asia-Pacific Region."
The workshop, which runs until August 1, is attended by 24 cultural policy practitioners from nine Asian countries, including Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Taipei.
This year, the UNESCO East Asia Regional Office is also participating to share trends in cultural heritage policy in the Asia-Pacific region.
The workshop is held in conjunction with the cultural committee meeting of the United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) General Assembly.
Jeju-do established the UCLG ASPAC Culture Committee in 2015 and has been serving as the chair city.
