According to Yonhap News,

On October 15th, the Jeju Agricultural Technology Center announced that it will foster specialized cultivation complexes for Jeju-grown gold kiwis and strengthen tailored technical support to enhance export competitiveness.

The Jeju Agricultural Technology Center plans to establish a new cultivation complex for the gold kiwi variety "Gamhwang" in collaboration with Seongsan Ilchulbong Agricultural Cooperative, provide cultivation management technologies to improve quality, and obtain the internationally recognized "Global GAP" certification to ensure export stability and reliability.

Additionally, the center will collaborate with the Hallagold Agricultural Cooperative to support the cultivation techniques, on-site consulting, and quarantine management for the export-specialized farms of another gold kiwi variety, "Sweet Gold," aiming to enhance international competitiveness.

The export volume of Jeju-grown gold kiwis increased by 87.4%, from 95 tons in 2021 to 178 tons last year. Currently, the area of gold kiwi cultivation in Jeju stands at 310 hectares.

Last year, Jeju also made its first kiwi export to Taipei, sending 49 tons (worth USD 291,000).

Jeju plans to increase its gold kiwi export volume to over 400 tons by 2028.
