According to Yonhap News,

On November 9th, Jeju-do announced that it achieved significant outcomes at the 2nd 'Invitation to Jeju, Korea' in Singapore, including a KRW 3 billion export contract for livestock products, over 190 export consultations, and startup collaborations.

The province explained that the event, held on November 4-6 in Singapore, demonstrated the potential for Jeju companies and startups to enter the ASEAN market and successfully established a practical exchange platform.

A business meeting held on November 5 at the Oasia Hotel in Singapore involved 19 companies from Jeju’s food, agricultural, and livestock sectors, who engaged in one-on-one consultations with 46 ASEAN buyers from Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.

In particular, Daehan F&B signed a contract worth approximately KRW 3 billion with Singapore’s large distributor, Culina, to supply Hanwoo and 52 tons of pork annually.

A total of over 190 export consultations took place, and Jeju Pig Farmers' Cooperative and Seogwipo City Livestock Cooperative signed three letters of intent.

The Jeju + ASEAN Startup Demo Day, held on November 5-6, featured 8 Jeju startups led by the Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation and Jeju University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, as well as 6 startups from Singapore and Malaysia. These startups held investment consultation sessions.

In central Singapore, the Jeju Product Popup Store operated for a week, on November 3 to 9.

More than 70 local Jeju brand products, including processed Jeju mandarin products, wellness foods, and Jeju cosmetics, gained popularity among local distributors and consumers.

A city official sad, “From the opening day, the event saw a surge in visitors, and sales increased daily. Some popular products sold out early, proving the brand competitiveness and marketability of Jeju products.” She continued, 'Invitation to Jeju, Korea' has become a practical platform for Jeju companies and startups to challenge the global market. We will continue to expand trade, tourism, and innovation exchanges with the ASEAN region, with the Jeju Singapore office taking the lead.”

The Jeju Singapore office, which opened in June 2023, has since served as a bridge for exchanges with the ASEAN region in areas such as trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges.
