On November 10th, Cellix, a bio-pharmaceutical company based in the metropolitan area, relocated its headquarters to Jeju.

Founded in 1992, Cellix is a pharmaceutical and biotechnology company specializing in the manufacture of finished pharmaceuticals. It develops next-generation drug candidates, including anticancer drugs, immune-oncology drugs, and targeted therapies.

The company received Inno-Biz and venture company certifications in 2002 and collaborates with domestic and international universities and research institutions for drug research and development.

In November 2020, Cellix signed an investment agreement with Jeju-do, committing a total of KRW 17.5 billion. The company was supported by local investment promotion grants and other incentives, investing a total of KRW 24.3 billion to build a new headquarters, production facilities, research labs, and dormitories in the Jeju High-tech Science and Technology Park, covering a total area of 5,755 square meters across five floors.

Cellix plans to hire 41 new employees in Jeju and aims to strengthen its capabilities in anticancer drug and new drug development, with the goal of expanding into global markets.
