According to Yonhap News,

This year, Jeju International Airport has surpassed 2.8 million international passengers, setting a record high.

According to the Korea Airports Corporation on December 3rd, the number of international passengers at Jeju Airport reached 2,802,095 as of December 2nd.

This marks the highest-ever figure, surpassing the previous record of 2.74 million in 2016.

Jeju Airport attributes the increase in foreign tourists from Taipei, Japan, Singapore, and other countries to the popularity of K-content, such as Netflix animated movie "K-pop Demon Hunters" and the Netflix original series "When Life Gives You Tangerines".

The airport forecasts that the number of international passengers will reach 3 million by the end of the year.

Jang Se-hwan, Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Airport Manager, stated, "With the record-breaking number of international passengers, we will do our best to make Jeju Airport a representative tourism hub airport in Asia."
