(Jeju = Yonhap News) Reporter Jeon Ji-hye - Jeju Province announced on the 9th that it signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Investment and Regional Economic Vitalization" with Awesome Ray, an advanced materials company based on carbon nanotubes (CNT), at the Baengnok Hall of the Provincial Office.
Founded in 2018, Awesome Ray is an R&D-oriented company with extensive technological capabilities ranging from CNT materials to components and equipment. Under this agreement, the company plans to invest KRW 6 billion in Jeju and hire 10 new employees.
Awesome Ray has confirmed its move into "Route330" within the Jeju Innovation Growth Center at the Jeju Science Park. It intends to use Jeju as a base for research and development and the expansion of the advanced materials industry.
The province plans to provide administrative and financial support to ensure Awesome Ray's stable settlement in Jeju.
Kim Se-hun, CEO of Awesome Ray, stated, "Jeju is an attractive region with diverse corporate support policies, including support for listing companies and nurturing funds," adding, "We will continue cooperation and business expansion in future growth industries such as aerospace and bio."
Governor Oh Young-hun said, "The decision of a tech company grown in the metropolitan area to make a new investment in Jeju is a meaningful case that shows the future potential of Jeju's industry," and promised, "We will support Jeju to become an innovation hub where companies can research, challenge, and grow."
