[Jeju=Newsis] Reporter Woo Jang-ho = Local companies based in Jeju have signed export contracts and secured Letters of Intent (LOI) worth approximately KRW 5 billion (USD 3.76 million) in the Hong Kong market.

The Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (CCEI) announced on the 7th that it achieved these results through the 'THE Jeju Creator Global Expansion Capability Strengthening Project,' pursued in collaboration with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

Eleven local enterprises from the province participated in the initiative. From the 25th to the 27th of last month, the companies introduced their products and brands to local investors and buyers in Hong Kong and held individual business consultations.

On the first day's Demo Day, companies presented their business models and product competitiveness. On the second day, they held one-on-one sessions with buyers to negotiate pricing, distribution channels, and export terms.

On the final day, participants visited InvestHK, Hong Kong's government agency for foreign direct investment and startup support, to examine the local startup/investment ecosystem and tour major commercial retail districts.

As a result of the consultations, four companies—Medals, Yudong Coffee Factory, Cacao Family, and Seongsan Bakery—signed export contracts totaling KRW 30 million (USD 22,600). Separately, the participating enterprises collectively secured Letters of Intent worth KRW 5 billion (USD 3.76 million).

The Jeju CCEI analyzed that local brands featuring Jeju-sourced raw ingredients and distinct regional characteristics demonstrated strong marketability during consultations with local buyers.

An official from Jeju CCEI stated, "We will support follow-up negotiations to ensure the export contracts are executed smoothly, and continue tailored assistance for each company so that the Letters of Intent lead to binding contracts."

Building on these achievements in Hong Kong, Jeju Province and Jeju CCEI plan to expand support for pioneering overseas sales channels and strengthening export capabilities for local enterprises across the province.
