Jeju Province said on February 13th that Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Korean Bio information Center (KOBIC), Shanghai Center for Bioinformatics Technology (SCBIT), Japan’s National Institute of Genetics (NIG) plan to launch an international cooperation research institute in the system biology sector.

They chose Jeju as the candidate for the research institute during a working-level consultation, as Jeju has favorable geographical condition, abundant bio-resources, and optimal environmental conditions.
