According to Yonhap News,

Jin Air plans to operate direct flights to Harbin, Zian, Shijiazhuang, and Shanghai, stoking expectations that Chinese tourists will rise in Jeju Province.

Jin Air said on April 18th that B737-800 with the capacity of 189 passengers will fly between Jeju and Harbin every Thursdays and Sundays (departure from Jeju) until October 31st.

The carrier held a welcoming ceremony as the first flight departed from Harbin with 186 Chinese tourists including 20 government officials aboard arrived at Jeju Airport at 6:10 a.m. on April 18th.

Also, the airline will operate direct flights to Shanxi every Fridays and Mondays from April 25th to the end of October, and to Shijiazhuang irregularly from May 18th to the end of October.

In particular, Jin Air plans to focus on increasing international direct flights. As part of that effort, it will have a Jeju-Shanghai direct flight every day starting from June 19th.

When the carrier operates flights without any problems on those four routes, the maximum of 62,000 seats will be available by the end of this year.

Marketing Team Leader An Hyeon-seok said “we will operate irregular flights on three direct routes this year following last year’s policy,” and added “we will help vitalize the Jeju regional economy, when we start regular flights to Shanghai in June.”
