According to Yonhap News,

Jeju province opens the era of eco-friendly electric vehicles.

Jeju said on September 10 that it will start the operation of electric vehicles for the first time by purchasing 39 high-speed and 2 low-speed electric vehicles.

The province will buy 44 electric chargers. The cost of purchasing vehicles and chargers will be KRW 2.1 billion and KRW 700 million, respectively.

The province will complete the installation of chargers and registration of electric vehicles. Chargers will be set up in offices, police stations and fire stations.

Electric vehicles will be used in patrol and administrative work.

An official said that the operation of 41 electric vehicles for 6 years will save energy cost by KRW 120 million, compared to gasoline vehicles. It will also reduce carbon emissions by 320 tons.
