According to Yonhap News,
The 15th Inter-Island Tourism Policy(ITOP) Forum was held in September 29.
12 islands from 11 countries discussed ways to develop MICE(meeting, incentives, convention, exhibition) industry.
In a joint statement, substantial discussion was made on the development of tourism and MICE industries. Representatives of islands recognize the need for cooperation and exchange. They agreed to expand policy exchanges, and cooperate with other industries to create synergy effects.
They also share their experience and understanding in product development strategy, marketing strategies. They selected Okinawa as the next host of the ITOP.
This year's ITOP forum was joined by 8 member islands including Jeju, Okinawa, Hainan, Bali, Hawai, and 2 observer islands.
