According to Yonhap News,

Local governments of Korea and Japan plan to create sea forests together in preparation against climate change.

Jeju city said on Oct. 13 that sea forest project proposed by Jeju city was selected as a joint research project in the 19th meeting of cities, prefectures on the Korea-Japan Strait.

Cities and prefectures on the Korea-Japan Strait will exchange advanced technology and information on sea forest through a joint research.

Sea forest project was proposed to protect the ocean of the two countries in an efficient manner.

The meeting started in 1993 with the aim of developing the fishing industry of the two countries.
