According to Yonhap News,

The increasing non-stop flights to and from Taiwan and Jeju Island are expected to lead to the growing number of foreign tourists to Jeju.

According to Jeju, TransAsia Airway CEO Lin said the company will increase the number of direct flights between Taipei and Jeju from current two flights to four every week from February 24, during his visit to the island.

The airliner is also planning to launch two direct flights between Kaohsiung and Jeju every week from May.

CEO Lin said he will help Jeju attract more tourists from Southeast Asia by developing travel programs related to the flight from Singapore to Taipei and Jeju.

The low-cost carrier Jin Air also plans to launch three flights from Taipei to Jeju per week from March, which is expected to attract more visitors to Jeju.

Jeju is planning to develop tour programs and enhance promotion for drawing Southeast Asian tourists in partnership with Korea Tourism Organization and travel agencies.

The number of Taiwanese tourists to Jeju had gradually dropped from 67,993 in 2008 to 41,480 in 2009, 40,867 in 2010 and 31,661 in 2011.
