A workshop is held under the theme of "Low Carbon City: Green Growth for Local Governments" at Jeju International Training Center for the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.

Nineteen high-ranking officials from 10 countries including China and India gather to discuss green growth, sustainable local development and Asian local governments' green growth strategy and plan.

Mun Seung-il, professor of Electrical Engineering Department at Seoul National University, introduced Korea's green growth strategy and policy and Jeju National University Professor Jeong Dae-yeon made a lecture about green growth and sustainable regional development.

Participants are scheduled to visit the Smart Grid Demonstration Complex in Gujwa-eup, Jeju to watch Jeju's development of alternative energy sources.
