The Water Festival 2012, designed to reflect upon the value of Jeju water and discuss how to make it a global brand, begins on Thursday.
The festival, organized by the producer of Jeju Samdasoo Jeju Development Corporation (JDC), attracted water experts, water-related businesses from home and abroad and relevant agencies.
The corporation unveiled its new premium product named "Hallasoo" during an opening ceremony. After that, Peter Zec, President of Red Dot Design Award and International Council of Societies of Industrial Design, made a special lecture.
Experts will present the effects of Jeju groundwater including reducing obesity, enhancing immune system, controlling blood sugar level and allergic reaction and easing atopic inflammation during a forum.
An investment seminar will also be held to give local water businesses a chance to meet buyers and investors.
President of JDC O Jae-yun said, "We prepared for the event to promote Jeju water to all around the world."
