Jeju will ink a cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kanghui Travel Agency next month to attract 50,000 tourists.
Kanghui plans to launch marketing for Jeju's travel attractions via its 220 branches and 5,500 local networks across China, designating 2013 the year of Visit Korea. The Chinese travel agency will also operate chartered flights between Jeju and China's nine cities including Nanging, Xi'an and Chongqing.
In addition, it plans to hold a large seminar with 250 employees and executives attending in Jeju next month to discuss how to attract more Chinese tourists to Jeju.
Founded in 1984, Kanghui is one of China's four state-run agencies with 30,000 employees.
