The number of foreign visitors to Jeju on international cruise ships exceeded 100,000.

According to the Jeju Tourism Organization last week, total 101,002 foreign visitors travelled to Jeju on 56 cruise ships.

Compared to 25 cruise ships and 26,660 tourists over the same period last year, the number of ships doubled and visitors quadrupled.

The Korea Tourism Organization is operating cruise information centers with Jeju Island and holding welcoming events for incentive tourists and more.

The organization is also holding marketing activities including familiarization tours for cruise ship insiders to promote Jeju for new international cruises.

In the second half of this year, 2013 Jeju international cruise forum will be held in Jeju for the first time in Asia.

The Korean Tourism Organization noted that the forum will serve as an opportunity to foster Jeju as a mecca of cruise tourism not only in Northeast Asia not in the world.
