(JEJU = Yonhap News) Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (Jeju) and BMW Korea held the donation ceremony to promise the cooperation between two parties to expand the infrastructure of the electric car charger.

BMW Korea donated 30 electric car chargers to Jeju during the ceremony.

The donated charger is the model that can be used for all kinds of electric cars in Korea, and they will be installed in the major tourist attractions, hotels, apartment complexes and golf clubs in Jeju.

It is the first public charger in Korea that will be installed in the private facilities.

Jeju plans to push ahead the plan to supply 500 electric cars to the private sector and develop the infrastructure for the electric car chargers in a bid to minimize the inconvenience of the drivers.

Jeju and BMW Korea signed a memorandum of understanding in September to strengthen the cooperation in the supply of the electric cars prior to the donation ceremony.
