(SEOGWIPO=NEWSIS) The Jeju Free International City Development Center sought ways of investment and looked at its current state at the Jeju Forum on May 30. Under the title of ‘Management and investment measures for the success of Free International City’, JDC invited experts from various fields to stage an in-depth discussion on effective public relations and creative ways to attractive investment.

“To make Jeju competitive enough to compete with the rest of the world, we must maximize its potential in tourism, investment and educational environment. This is a way to proactively respond to today’s rapid globalization,” said Andre Nothomb, chief executive at Solvay Korea.

“To reach its vision, Jeju needs to capitalize on its geopolitical advantage, open up more to the outside world, and offer advanced R&D environment. Policy & environmental changes in Korea and China are resulting in greater strategic service demand for both corporations and individuals, but we don’t have a strategic financial service model to meet such needs,” said Kim, Ju-Nam, president of Korea Institute of Brand Promotion.

“First of all, evaluation on attracting investment into the Free International City should be made. Then we need to contemplate on ways to create an ideal environment to bring in needed capital,” said Park, Kyung-Sook, a professor of Jeju National University, Department of Journalism & Public Relations.
