According to Yonhap News,

(JEJU=Yonhap News)Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong announced November 20 that the province is promoting to expand the infrastructure of the Jeju International Airport by 2022.

“The construction will begin in the next five years of time and will take about three to four years," said Won.

Won pointed out that the construction will begin five years later at the earliest as it takes three to four years at the least to choose the project developer, design the building and purchase the land.

"We are cooperating with the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs to reduce the period of construction as it should not take 15 years to either expand the existing airport or building a new airport,” said Won.
