Reasons for Proposal
The current Act requires a provider of information and communications services with at least a certain number of employees, users, etc., to designate a chief information protection officer and report such designation to the Minister of Science and ICT.
However, the current Act does not expressly require the reporting of any change of the chief information protection officer on such grounds as resignation or dismissal; and accordingly, this Amendment requires a report to be filed with the Minister of Science and ICT in such cases (Article 45-3 and Article 76, paragraph 1, subparagraph 6-2).
Major Provisions
Require any provider of information and communications services to file a report with the Minister of Science and ICT in the event that its chief information protection officer has changed (Article 45-3, paragraph 1).
